Two weeks down, two to go for events that will shape the regional rankings for the rest of the season.

This past weekend, competitions in Colorado, Indiana, Kansas City, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee brought together state and regionally ranked teams from 16 states. Here's a quick rundown of the highlights:

In Colorado, Boulder (Colo.) boys jumped to the top of the state and region rankings after handing perennial national power Salesianum (Del.) its first loss of the season.

In Indiana, Quincy (Ill.) boys went 1-0-1 at Evansville Memorial, beating the host and tying St. Xavier (Ky.). The results bode well for Illinois since Quincy was 6-2-1 entering the event, then dealt a defeat to Indiana's top-ranked team Evansville Memorial. Quincy's showing helped a number of Illinois teams move up in this week's Mid-East ranking.

In Kansas City, Ladue Horton Watkins (Mo.) extended its perfect season to 13-0 with a dominating performance at the KC Showcase. The tournament title will help Ladue move into SIMA FAB 50 Top 25 range this week.

In Ohio, Good Counsel (Md.) girls split with a pair of Ohio Top 10 teams, which is a showing that will help connect the level of play from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic, and up through the New York-New Jersey region. 

In Pennsylvania, The Hill School hosted a blockbuster boys showcase over the weekend, featuring several of the nation's elite East Coast programs. St. Benedict's Prep (N.J.) and St. Anthony's (N.Y.) sustained their first defeats of the season, but to vastly different levels of opponents. St. Benedict's fell to Berkshire School (Mass.), currently the nation's No. 2-ranked prep team. St. Anthony's, however, lost to DeMatha Catholic (Md.), which was coming off a 3-0 loss to perennial Maryland state power McDonogh School (Md.), which is currently in third place in its league behind Calvert Hall (Md.) and Archbishop Curley (Md.). 

In Tennessee, the organizers of the successful spring season Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg, Tenn., hosted a small boys event despite Tennessee boys not playing in the fall. Bishop Gorman (Nev.) went 3-0 in an event that included teams from North Carolina and Kentucky to earn back a state ranking this week.

There are several more out-of-state boys and girls matches this coming week, which all leads to the Gateway City Soccer Classic in two weeks, where 62 boys teams representing 11 states will clash in St. Louis.
