The latest update to the men’s Division I recruiting class rankings are out, expanding to a Top 40 for the June edition.

Transfers are picking up the pace, along with international signings as classes are confirmed and late adjustments made. Pro signings are still impacting the update, as Clemson lost one player to a Homegrown contract last week.

Taking into account the number of Top 200 recruits announced, incoming transfers and international additions, check out the most recent edition of the men’s DI recruiting rankings.

1. Wake Forest

Commitments: D Boima Cummins (New York Red Bulls – No. 32), F Babacar Niang ([Pennington nj-w] – No. 78), M Roald Mitchell (PDA – No. 91), GK Robert Alphin (North Carolina FC – No. 101), F Mwinso Denkabe (Silicon Valley Soccer Association – No. 108), M Ryan Fessler (Sporting KC), M Eligio Guarino (NYCFC), F Julian Kennedy (Orlando City), M Nicolas Mancilla (Club Universidad de Chile), GK Jake Nicoll (STA), M Tareq Shihab (Brighton & Hove Albion)

Wake’s class maintains hold on the top spot, with five players in the Top 150 rankings. They’ve also added other players on a gap year. That includes Kennedy and Fessler, as the latter is already playing, while Mancilla and Shihab are notable international additions.

2. Portland*

Commitments: F Sebastian Nava (LA Galaxy – No. 30), GK Andrew Cordes (Colorado Rapids – No. 45), D Isaac Homer (Portland Timbers – No. 51), D Sebastian Hernandez (LA Galaxy – No. 85), D Adrian Aguilar (LA Galaxy – No. 87), F John Atem Kato (SIMA), D Miles Lyons (Barca Academy), F Muslim Umar (Vancouver Whitecaps), D Ty Walker (New York Red Bulls)

Transfers: GK George Tasouris (Grand Canyon)

Portland is knocking on the door at the top spot. Can this new group continue to push Portland towards the top of the conference or national scene?

3. North Carolina

Commitments: F Andres Cardenas (Inter Miami CF – No. 31), GK Anthony Ramos (LA Galaxy – No. 44), F Tega Ikoba (Portland Timbers – No. 59), F Nicolas Bellini (Real Salt Lake – No. 61), M Alejandro Alvarado (LA Galaxy), GK Quinn Closson (NYCFC), M Andrew Czech (Sockers FC), F Lucas Ross (PDA), D Matthew Senanou (Sockers FC), M Gui Vivaldini (Chattanooga Red Wolves)

It’s a tremendous class committed for the ACC side, which receives a much-needed high level of talent injection. The Tar Heels put together a strong season in the end, with a College Cup spot.
